I emailed a regular microsoft word document by attaching the file to an email. When I tried to open it at school today it says that it is zipped and that it is a docx file? Anyone know what this is about? Thanks

"docx" is one of the new file formats used for Word 2007 documents. Previous versions of Word used the "doc" format.

Would emailing a large file tax my system resources?
Let's say I have already burdened my computer to the point that I can't save any more large files to the drive. (It's not really MY computer, okay?) I would like to send a large (300 MB) file to a friend, and the one attempt I have made at emailing it left him with nothing but a placeholder.
Is it possible that my full drive has rendered it impossible for me to upload or email anything of this size, or do you think it's another problem?

Basically I've been having an online dalliance that I've really enjoyed but for a lot of reasons it must end. It has been so intense and I really need to be on the computer for work. Please, anyone who has been here give me some ideas on how to stop it. Practical ideas.

That way you won't be able to contact him, or when you do you'll get no reply. Or just tell him to end all contact with you.
Reply:If you have already decided that it needs to end, holding on like this will be really unhealthy and make you unhappy. It will prevent you from meeting your full potential and meeting someone else who can make you truly happy.
Honestly I would suggest just giving it up cold turkey. Remove him from your email, IM, and whatever else you may communicate with him on, and don't look back. Communicate with your friends and try to do things with other people so that you can keep busy and keep your mind off of him. Do you have a hobby you really enjoy or a goal that you have been meaning to work on? Focus your efforts on that in your spare time so that you are not thinking so much about him.
It will be hard at first, but will get easier over time. Just stick to it and don't give up! I know you can do it and you will be much happier for it in the end! :-)

I know the guys get lonesome and need support from those of us here at home, and I would like to be a pen pal to them if I could figure out a way. Does anyone know how I can do this. Years ago Dear Abby used to post addresses to send the troops Christmas wishes, but I never see anything like that anymore and it seems like our troops need our support now more than ever. Soldiers serving in Iraq haven't hatched from eggs! They have parents, siblings, friends, wives, girlfriends.... When you are deployed suddenly everyone you have ever known from your primary school teachers to your bank manager wants to send you something!
You have to understand that our mail takes forever to get to them and it is seriously irritating to know that there is mail clogging the flights from people who just want to be 'part of it' or bag themselves a boyfriend.

What do you do when you find out your wife is emailing her old college boyfriend of three years?
I know I shouldn't be reading her email, but I had to get an address of a friend. I saw that she was emailing her old boyfriend when I was away with work telling him that she was lonely. I am pretty upset, and I know she hates when I go away on business, but I have no control over that. The job puts a roof over our head. I just dont know if or how I could confront her about this. Any ideas?

Emailing pictures to my ATT phone?
I was wondering how I can email from my yahoo email address a picture from my computer to my Samsung SYNC phone from ATT. I've tried the MMS address and TXT address from the site and I only received the TXT one, but no other files with the picture. Anyone know the answer to this? And btw I am not concerned with how much it costs. Unless I have to do it online.

You might need more then 1 roll, though, and get one of those tape holder thingy's with a big handle that you can pass to each other while you're taping. It'll save ya time and sore shoulders.

ok well its a long story if you ask me i will tell you but here is some of it ok well there is this girl named megan and she goes to my school and she WON'T stop e-mailing me she says mean things about me i have told me mom my mom has e-mailed her telling her to STOP but she won't she broke my computer i just got it fixed she might have to pay for it because it was $1,000 to get it fixed i reported her to spam but everytime i do she gets a new e-mail and keeps e-maiuling i have told if she doesn't stop e-mailing me im gonna call the police because they are really scary e-mails! My little sister is still in high school, and she has 265 that she works around. Does your friend have something like that? Or does she use the same threats every time?

I've seen quite a few users on YA trying to get out of their fanbox account, so I looked into it. This is their website: http://www.fanbox.com/socnet/ - they are not associated with Yahoo and are no part of the Yahoo business whatsoever. I then went to a couple of forums and in everyone of them people were complainig about fanbox. It seems that they offer many applications, but that they are mainly after mail addresses to send you lots of spam.

You would need the full version of adobe acrobat. Get out 300 bucks! Why not just scan it and save as an image file if you are simply going to e mail it?

Well the dean wouldn't be the person that you would deal with.The dean is probably to busy too receive emails from a sophomore in high school interested in a baseball scholarship ( no offense). You would probably want to contact the athletic departments and maybe speak to a secretary for the coach or the department. They could tell you what they are looking for in scholarship candidates and answer most questions that you would have. I would not email, I would probably call because you would have a better chance of actually talking to someone. You should be able to find contact information for the athletic department on their website or in a faculty and staff directory on the the university website.
Also just a note of advice for the future if you decide to email for anything like this make sure you have proper grammar, spelling, and capitalization.

Good laptops for standard emailing and office work. Any recomendations
I need a laptop for standard emailing,typing in word, and some of those little low end games like the game where u match the 3 different colors together, and it pops, then u repeat the same steps. It just cant be a compaq. So anyone got any recomendetions

Considering what you want to do could be done comfortably with a computer from 1997... walk into Walmart and purchase the most inexpensive laptop available. It will do everything you want to do comfortably. It will most likely be an Acer Aspire. It will most likely cost you $450.
But, really considering what you want to do, find the lowest price new laptop you can find. If you are OK with purchasing something used, then find a laptop for the lowest price available that was manufactured after 2002.
If you are looking for a brand name, then buy a Toshiba.

In order to fix this, you should back up your hard drive and then reformat it, because this is the only way to clear corrupted program files out of the works.

So far from my experience I have the Nero 7 Ultra software. It's very user friendly and not alot of steps to configure what you want to do. Also, it provides everything you needed to do such as viewing/editing phots, creating slideshow with those photos and then burning them to a DVD. I have created slide shows on DVD using Nero.

yep thats what it does. The photo is attached as an attachment, the blank bit is for you to write a message.
You won't see the photo, it is sending it as a file rather than embedding the picture in the email, which reduces the size of it.
The best thing to do is send a test one and write a message to your friend asking if they've got the picture.

Personals and Plentyoffish and every single time I email a girl whose profile is in my criteria, they either NEVER respond, my email gets deleted, or I may even get a b*itch message in return. MS Word 2003. Not everyone uses 2007 yet. Most companies will accept either plain text or MS Word.

They are reasonably priced and many smaller and some larger businesses also use them. If u choose to use a third party service to gather your email leads, make sure you google them using %26lt;company name%26gt; + spam or scam and see if there are any results. http://www.getresponse.com/email-marketi... seems to be the most reputable for getting targeted opt-in lists but constantcontact.com is a better online emailer.
As far as crafting and sending the actual emails, keep the titles to two or three words and make them very appealing and more people will open them.

Nobody likes unwanted messages. I do agree that if you have your own list, maybe then those guys will open your messages and maybe buy something or register. As far as crafting and sending the actual emails, keep the titles to two or three words and make them very appealing and more people will open them.

because you didn't enable your "Email Communications from Yahoo! Answers".
1. go to your profile.
2. click on "edit my profile".
3. after that, scroll down to where it say's "email communications from yahoo! answers" and check on that little box where it says "email me when I receive a new answer to a question I've asked"

You only have to do is look at the content of many questions on this site to see a major problem. Very few people are skilled when it comes to written communications.
People tend to make emails and IM's very terse and thereby leave out potentially important information. Replies have the same problem.
I also agree that the emotional aspect of the communication that comes from face to face conservations is a great loss. You have very little feed back to tell you if you are "getting across" to the person you are trying to communicate with.
