Is there a way to create groups of contacts and then emailing without showing every ones email address?

Sure. Put the group (or an individual email) in the "Bcc" part of the email form.

"Bcc" stands for "Blind carbon copy". It means the "Bcc" recipients are hidden from the other recipients. They will not only not see each others' emails, they will not see each others' names either.

Technically: Bcc puts the recipient name in the "envelope" (e.g. smtp) but not in the RFC822 headers.

CREATE A CATEGORY/GROUP:

1. Click the "Contacts" tab at the top of your yahoo mail page to open your address book.

2. Put a check mark next to each name you want in a specific category/group.

3. Click the "Add to Category" tab above the address book.

4. In the new drop down menu, click on "New Category."

5. Type the title you want to give your category/group into the box that opens in the upper left, then click OK.

Do the above for each category/group you wish to set up.

The name of your category appears in the left navigation bar of your address book under Categories" for editing only. Click on the Title of the category to open it and add or delete a name.

When you wish to send email to a specific category, after you click on Compose or Forward to open the message window, click "TO" to open your address book which is set up for emailing.

At the the top of this mailing list, click on the little blue "categories" link across from 'Contacts", to open your list of Categories. You will need to add at least one name in the To field, then check the Bcc box next to the category you wish to hide, go to the top and click on "Insert Checked Contacts."
